With over 17 years coaching experience and 20 years of International
wrestling competition, Sergei has high expectations which contributes to his coaching success. With a strong ability to observe, analyze and make decisions combined with International wrestling experiences, Sergei has trained wrestlers to be champions at all levels of competition including the Olympics. Sergei has just returned from his home country of Belarus where he served as the Belarus Head Olympic Freestyle Coach at the London 2012 Olympics.
Founder of the Columbus Wrestling Club and with over eight years of
coaching experience Brian has a strong passion for the sport of wrestling.
His coaching career has been successful at the youth, high school and
collegiate levels. A Columbus Beechcroft alumni, Brian has a Degree in
Physical Education and Health from The Ohio State University, Brian also
holds a Masters degree from Ashland University. Brian is an AAU Freestyle
National Champion and has traveled and competed internationally. Brian is
a USA Wrestling Silver level certified Coach and a member of the National
volunteer coaching staff.
Florin began his Greco-Roman wrestling career in 1993 with Farul Constanta Sports Club and proved himself to be a very talented wrestler winning multiple medals in domestic and international competitions. After moving to Bucharest and transferring to the Steaua Bucharest Army Sports Club, Florin became a two-time Romanian National Greco-Roman Champion and a World Junior Championships place finisher. Florin is known as a person of tremendous character, honesty and sportsmanship.
Melis is a International Champion and Greco-Roman wrestling coach for the Columbus Wrestling Club has been very instrumental in preparing wrestlers for competitions at the State, Regional, National and International level. His work has helped many of our young members excel and are now competing and succeeding at the highest levels.
Lou is former All Marine Team Greco-Roman Wrestler. During his time in the military Lou competed internationally and was an all service wrestling champion. Lou also has great talents for coaching wrestling as he has coached several area wrestlers to State and National Titles. Lou also has a stong Judo background which offers his wrestlers an opportunity to learn a variety of skills used applilcable in wrestling and mixed martial arts.
Coach Coleman is a volunteer assistant wrestling coach at Olentangy Orange Middle School. Mark was a four year letterman at Thomas Worthington High School and a member of the 2010 USA Wrestling Ohio National Team. Mark continues to be an asset to the Beat the Streets Columbus program while he maintains focus on a his degree program at The Ohio State University. Coach Mark has initiated a mentorship program that is caring and one-to-one, that focuses on the needs of the wrestler. Mark encourages all Columbus Wrestling Club members to develop to their fullest potential and develop his or her own vision for the future.
